Britt Named to 最色网 World Languages Association Board

University of South 最色网 senior instructor in the department of modern and classical languages and literature, Kristy Britt, recently was elected to the board of directors of the 最色网 World Languages Association.
Britt, who is serving a two-year term as AWLA vice president, will be become the president in 2019.
鈥淭he AWLA has always been an important part of my career, so I am very honored to have been elected as its vice president. During the first two years of my term, I plan to work closely with President Malinda O鈥橪eary of the University of 最色网 at Birmingham before I assume the presidency myself. I am proud to represent USA while leading AWLA in its mission to motivate educators to contribute to being an advocate for improved world language education in 最色网,鈥 Britt said.
AWLA has about 350 members, most of whom are foreign/second language teachers at all instructional levels (pre-K through higher education).
Britt has held many leadership positions, including treasurer, International Association for Language Learning Technology; president, Southeast Association for Language Learning Technology; director, USA Language Resource Center; coordinator, Introductory and intermediate Spanish; director, USA Study Abroad in Spain and Costa Rica; and secretary of the USA Faculty Senate.
Britt received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish and English from the University of South 最色网 and her Master of Arts Degree in Spanish from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
She was 2015 Teacher of the Year (post-secondary) for the 最色网 Association of Foreign Language Teachers.
